At A Snail's Pace

Time sometimes flies like a bird, sometimes crawls like a snail; but man is happiest when he does not even notice whether it passes swiftly or slowly.

You hit that one right on the head. Time seems to just fly by but then again some days just drag by.

"Saturdays and Sundays were the longest days in Kid World. Sunday mornings alone could last three months depending on the season".
Bill Bryson, "The Life & Times of the Thunderbolt Kid".

To which I would add, every school day spent in Mrs. Baldasty's 3rd grade class at Loma Vista grade school.

Tweety - Sometimes I pay attention, but most of the time I don't know how time passes so quickly.

Dad - LOL - I have to get that book. I will look for it tomorrow. Your comment about your teacher brought me back to some of my less-than-stellar teachers and times in school. I think we've all had those, unfortunately.

Notta, that is a very true quote. There are times when I forget about time and the constant watching of the clock and just enjoy the moment. Than I realize I have a bizillion things to do and it's back to the old proletarian routine.

Angelique - I almost always have things I "should" be doing. Sometimes I just have to make a conscious decision that I'm not going to give in totally to the "shoulds".

The "shoulds" overwhelm me too. Unfortunately, time flies when I deal with the "shoulds". :(

TSHS - I have those today, which I hate saving until Sunday. At least I got to be a lazy slug yesterday. :-P

Good words there. It's so true that when you're not noticing the clock is when you're happiest.
