Flowery

Just living
is not enough....
One must have sunshine,
freedom and a little flower

When at last I took the time to look into the heart of a rose, it opened up a whole new world... as if a window had been opened to let in the sun.

Vest - That's very romantic and sweet. :-)

Other people don't think that way - you should have seen the looks I got from getting myself into odd positions to take pictures of these flowers. There is something especially beautiful about roses. :-)

Notta; Roses will not grow in my garden, the soil is too sandy, I have a bush tea rose with pink multi petals, now gone to Hips.
I also have a lemon tree,
frangipani, magnolia, and 20ft high poinsetta(pinky-red), Btw one of the worst mistakes you can make as a gardener, is to think your'e in charge.

Ha, ha - I have no illusions that I'm a gardener of any kind. Other people can grow the flowers -- I'll just enjoy them. :-)

Julia - Those are from Sunday when we visited Shoreline Park in Mountain View. They were just there at the edge of the parking area for the lake, and I was sitting waiting, so I figured I might as well break out my camera. I could not grow flowers like that. :-)

That's the truth Vest! Gardening is a humbling experience.

Thanks for tying yourself in a knot to get those pics, Notta! Our grass is just starting to turn green and the trees are just now budding.

TSHS - Just seeing the flowers yesterday made me want to go to the nursery and get at least a little basket or pot to put on my porch. I love petunias and I'm sure with the help of Miracle Grow, I can keep them alive for a little bit. :-P

Petunias will grow the year round here, they were the first seedlings we planted shortly after our arrival at our new residence, pinch out the dead flowers and it encourages further blooms.

Vest - Yeah, petunias aren't too difficult. I need to do something to brighten our place up.

Falt - You should - you take really nice pictures. :-)

I like #2 best. It almost looks three dimensional. But I'm talking about the photograph, not necessarily the flower.

ZS - I have a lot of fun with Picasa, which is Google's photo editing program. You can do some cool things - that picture you're talking about is just color in the middle and black and white on the outside. On the last one, I can't remember the effect I used.

Argh. Picasa only works on Windows. :(

No problem though. I'm very happy with The GIMP.

Wow! You really have a gift for taking photos. I seem to have the worst luck when it comes to photo taking but that doesn't stop me. I usually end of with a collection of pictures with funny faces or cats twisted in wierd positions.

Flowers..have a mysterious and subtle influence upon the feelings,
not unlike some strains of music.
They relax the tenseness of the mind. They dissolve its sadness.

Angelique - You've taken some really cute pictures of your pets - I think they're great. I'm not sure that I have a gift, but a digital camera means I can take a ton of shots and throw out the bad ones pretty easily. :-P

Vest - Is that why each flower has its own message?

Notta: The garden of friendship can weather most storms and survive in sandy soil - but it needs the occasional mulch of good communication and some silly additives now and then to prevent it drying out. The message it brings you is in the beauty of its flowers. Vest AD MMV1
