Waiting for the Pleasantness of Spring

"If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome." Anne Bradstreet

Was it winter? I hardly noticed.

Actually, a few months of rain and 49 degree temps is starting to actually feel like winter to me, which is scary! Because now I know when I go back to the Midwest, I will get a serious smackdown.

I have been cursing the weather here lately, it feels like a Seattle winter to me. I can tell because most of March, I've been grumbly and generally moody and it's not even that time of the month. :-P

Kitkat - Oddly enough the cold doesn't bother me (if there's some snow and sun) as much as the rain. The rain is just so depressing. Makes me wonder how I survived in the Seattle area as long as I did.

We were discussing the topic of your quote on another blog last week. I'm happy to see that your quote agrees with me. ;)

Kitkat - That's true. I need to re-read the quote and realize I will appreciate our better weather when we get it.

Vest - This picture is of a flowering tree that is right outside our apartment. I can reach out and touch the branches on my way down the stairs - it's so pretty.

Faltenin - Thanks! Sometimes I wonder if I'm too flowery, but I love looking at flowers. If I can get a decent picture of them... so much the better.

TSHS - Well, that quote is really for a couple of different reasons. My mom has recently gone through a rough time, but now has come into her own "springtime" and I'm very proud of her for sticking out a very tough situation. Secondly, I've had to deal with some tough work situations lately as well and I'm waiting for my spring. Lastly, I'm just frickin tired of the rain and I'm not afraid to bitch about it and I really am ready for spring. :-P
